Sometimes I find myself wishing I just had a place to cut loose and if you’re anything like me you’ve probably wished the same thing too! Thanks to The Event Connections, that wish is now a dream come true!

Every Thursday night from 7:00-9:30 p.m. The Connection welcomes Larry’s Let’s Dance! So feel free to bring a partner or bring a friend (and don’t forget your dancing shoes!)

On Thursday, May 3, we’ll be celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a special event featuring a fun night of dancing and fantastic food by Bellyfire Catering! The cost for this event is $25 at the door, but you save $5 by with your advance RSVP. It makes for the perfect date night! You won’t want to miss it!

Let’s get started and take you through our DIY (DIT) Experience…

Each Bride needs a WELCOME SIGN!  We used ours to show guests where to find their way around the event.  This would be great if your event is in seperate locations, such as cocktails in one room and dancing in another.  How else would they know where to go unless you gave them a little guidance…

After finding out where to go your guests next stop is the BEVERAGE BAR!  Since it was October we cleaned out pumpkins and found fun baskets to display our beverages.  We used old classic bottled beverages to capture the “Vintage’” bride. Bottle openers would be fun favor if you wanted to get real creative.

Once they’ve got a drink in hand their next stop is finding their seat.  These cute  table numbers created by C.Marie’s Photography were perfect for each guest table.  One way to personalize this is by adding your engagement pictures to the frame!  Or other fun pictures to use are pictures of grandma and grandpa on their wedding day, bring in the heritage!  Just a tip, you could double dip and use your Welcome Sign as a place to show which table your guests are assigned to.

After guests were seated our presentations began…

We had a Flowerscapes Florist show girls how to create their own bouquets and boutineers…to be honest I think more brides realized how unrealistic it is to do your own bouquets once they heard if you want them to be made with fresh flowers it needs to be done within 3 days of the wedding (Trust me you will have other things to worry about).  But what you could do and what our florist offers is a DIT package, to cut back on costs look for a florist such as FlowerMan where you can purchase flowers and get help when it comes to designing.

Next we got personal with vinyl monograms.  Vinyl monograms are very personal and inexpensive way to add decor.  Uppercase Living allows you to create your own personal monogram that is easy to apply and remove.  Here are some examples of great ways to use them…

Or even on the entrance doors to your venue (again easy to apply, easy to remove)

Finally we had Prime Time Party Rental show DIY chair sashes and napkin folds.  Save on costs by tying your own chair sashes and accent your dinner menu with a nice napkin fold.

The DIY Experience was very informative and enjoyable.  Hope you have enjoyed these ideas and are able to apply them to your wedding!

Thoughts to consider…

Realize by choosing the DIY route you are signing your self up for a lot of work.  Ask a professional if they offer any DIY or DIT packages or advice before making your decision.

Pick your DIY projects wisely and make sure you stick to an organized timeline.  You want your wedding planning to be enjoyable.

Don’t be afraid to splurge on professional services, costs could be more but your work load will be way less, after all this is your WEDDING!

At 11a.m. vendors finished applying their final touches, the parking lot started to fill and the doors to The Connection were open to all guests!

The whimsical sound of wedding strings poured into the lobby as guests started to find their way around.

One of the many nice things about The Connection is its SIZE!  As guests walked down the halls they were surprised each corner they turned with intimate boutiques and beautiful wall galleries where they mingled with professional from all types of businesses.

The decorated boutiques and wall galleries  might have made the overall atmosphere intimate and personal, but there was no holding back when it came to EnTerTaiNmeNt!  The Event Connections has everything you could imagine when looking for ways to keep your guests entertained for hours… heres just a few examples…

Another way we were able to keep our guests captivated was by tasty treats… with over 10 different caterers, cake designers and chocolate professionals there was plenty to nibble on!

(It might be hard to believe but YES the bulldog is a Groom’s CAKE!)

We wanted to provide something different, something unique to the wedding industry!  We wanted to keep our guests entertained with endless ideas for their special day!
